I haven't shot my Colt in low light yet but I'd imagine it would work well though. My friend lives in a state where he has to have a plain barrel and as a result it has a flash in the daytime. i would think the A2 would work just fine. I know from night shooting that the flash suppressor on my M1A works great.

Just curious. Why would you refuse to buy ammo over the net?

I have a light for night use as well, should hide the flash like you said. I was just thinking that the extended length might make it perform somewhat like the phantom flash hider some.

I have the BCM extended A2 on my 14.5 carbine. I have not noticed any difference from the standard A2

Dont like paying the high shipping charges and getting inconsistant lot numbers when buying premium ammo.

I can guarantee that its probably cheaper to order online than buying from you r local store. The shipping charges are usually based off of hazmat rates.

No idea what inconsistent lot numbers means or your obsession with them.

Seriously, I have never heard anyone being concerned with lot numbers, just shoot the damn stuff!

FWIW, I put an old-style A1 3-prong on one of my guns for the retro look. I timed the A1 to have prongs at 12, 4, and 8 o'clock so as not to have it venting straight up in front o me. I noticed less flash than with the A2 when shooting milsurp.

I know the A1 is supposed to snag brush, but that's not a concern for me.
