What a crock. Colt makes it's cash from military and LE sales; neither of which need a .22. Also, these rifles work pretty well. Just ask the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

I do wish Colt could bring back the Woodsman. That was a neat little 22LR pistol

That must be why they went out of business years ago.

I laugh in the face of anybody who says that the AR is becoming obsolete or will anytime soon.

The same was said of every battle rifle the day before its replacement was introduced. The question is, will Colt be making the next replacement?

must have been made on the same day as a friends prancing pony which made it off the horse farm with no staking at all. staking he asks, little marks? where? yup, stake-less

Aside from the CM901 they have not seemed to release anything that raises the bar. With SHOT here and seeing all the pics from my friend I see different manuf. making revisions to their rifles that offer more advancements and making their system better and better.

Yet Colt is still just Colt. The 6920 is still a 6920. Instead of focusing on making a 6920A1 or making true upgrades to their systems they have decided to create one new rifle(CM901) and make numerous hydrodipped, Magpulled, Retro, and other variations of the same system. Their whole SHOT booth was the same old same old with a few additions that are just variants from the past and some that are painted.

The only really different systems is the (CM901, and SCW which is vaporware at this point), So what has happened to Colt that caused them to become stagnant and not continue to truly upgrade their systems. Why have they not come out with a new bolt design a better carrier design? The only things I see coming out of Colt lately are variants of what we already have, and while they may sell well to civilians they seem to be getting left behind when compared to other manuf's progress of upgrades.

They almost seem to be happy sitting on their ass surviving on their government paychecks instead of truly pushing the system and what can be done to it. Don't get me wrong Colt is THE "gold standard", but why not push that standard even higher than it is?

Yes they are some what stagnating these last few years. No Mid-length gas system, and the 901 is eh ok, but if I want to shoot 308 I'll just buy a 308 AR problem solved. 6940 was their last big hooha but i don't need 300 freaking feet of rail space, DDM4V7 with MFR is perfect.

BUT IF they wanted to do something different IE not just Same Old Shit they could start selling a Colt SP1'ish rifle. Sell them only in Walmarts.

Simple A1 Sighted fixed carry handle Upper, No forward assist but with Brass Deflector, light weight 20" 1/12 barrel with m4 feed ramps on barrel and upper receiver, standard charging handle, a simple flash hider, mil-spec upper parts, and finally Triangular handguards.
Modern lower with standard mil-spec parts, A1 stock, standard pistol grip, and finally all Mil-spec Pin sizes.
You could instead of the M16 Furniture go with Magpul MOE Rifle Buttstock and handguards and Pistol Grip, if the triangular handguards and A1 stock would be to expensive or to hard to source. Maybe as an option a lighter Gov. profile Hammer forged 20" barrel and a Non Mount Blackout 3 prong to dress it up a little.

This would sell and at least if they are not going to innovate they can at the very least make something and sell it in a location that would garner attention and sales.

When companies start catering to the "what will you have new at SHOT?" ****tards... you end up with the Glock scenario.

Building crap and pissing of the very MORONS that pressured you into changing a GOOD THING!

Really, if you don't like the fit and finish, please send it to me and I would be glad to take the 6920 off of your hands.
