Don't get hung up on "milspec". That is just a gubmint requirement that existed at a point in time in the past. LWRC, LMT, BCM, DD, etc. are leaving Colt in the dust.
Colt is the gold standard, period. Are there some better, sure. KAC comes to mind, not LWRC. Milspec is important b/c it sets a benchmark. I'm sorry, but Stag does not equal Colt, or BCN, or DD, or LaRue. I've seen 2 Stags go down in training.

Unless something has changed with LWRC in the last 6 months, there is nothing better about it than a Colt.

Your Stag is not in the same ball park as your Colt (FYI).

Most all the companies strive to follow the TDP (as they know what it actually means). The owner of BCM will be the FIRST to tell you that it is flattering for anyone to mention his company and Colt in the same sentence.

LOL, I hear this lame comment all the time. For whatever reason, people mistake CHOOSING to not stock a particular brand of AR with not being able to. Make no mistake, I could have a store full of Stag AR's if I so chose.

    I do not choose too.

I kinda liken it to the way Glock was for years and Toyota (think Camry) still is today. Yes they may not be the latest flash in the pan or on the bleeding edge, but they consistently turn out a high quality dependable product. This is what a lot of buyers want and they're willing to trade a little performance for dependability. There is a lot at risk for Colt in the future, they need to innovate some but not lose their rock as Glock has done lately.

I have Colt, DD, LWRC, and LMT, and I can say without a doubt that my Colt is not only my favorite rifle out of all of them it is the one I would go to in an emergency, period. It is everything I need or want in an AR.The only other rifle that would replace a Colt M-4/AR for me was my old issued Steyr AUG, but that is my personal preference because I carried it as my work gun for seven plus years.
