I keep these four in the bedroom for property & personal protection.

-AR15 SBR with DD Mk18 upper with Surefire x300 ultra light. Mags loaded with 62 grain Mk318 T556TNB1.

-SW M&P9 with Surefire x300ultra light. Hornady Critical Defense. Four spare mags with Winchester Ranger SXT in the quick open "gun-vault" I keep the pistol in.

-870 12 ga. with Elzetta light. Federal 2 3/4 00 buck. Six of these on elastic stock sleeve and a couple spare boxes in the bedroom.

-.410 single shot. Winchester PDX1 buckshot (3 disks & some bb shot in one shell). Wife's gun. She has an elastic shell-holder sleeve on the stock with 4 of the buckshot and 5 standard #6 birdshot for snakes. She usually kills a couple water mocassins a year when I'm away from home. Spare box of #6 birdshot in the bedroom next to the buckshot.

I keep a M&P9 loaded with critical defense in the wife's car & four spare mags, a SBR AR15 with Mk18 & M&P45 with critical defense in my truck with 8 AR mags and 4 pistol spare mags, and in the barn a 12ga, AR15, & .22 rifle loaded the same with spare mags and boxes of ammo. I keep a Ruger 10/22 loaded with CCI stingers in a closet by the back porch door for nuisance animals.

When something go's bump in the night in front of the house, the neighbors dont exactly like seeing you walking out there with a rifle or shotgun. Handgun you can hide in your pocket.

The neighbors should feel relieved that your armed. But I get your point. It's just unfortunate that's the world some of us live in.

If there's something going on outside that requires me to step out with a weapon???... I'm not interested in my neighbor's emotional well being.

If I was, I'd grab some rope and lasso the threat.

Delicate diplomacy is left for someone else. I might put the can on the weapon so they don't wake to a lot of noise... but that's where my politically correct compassion stops.
