Crap! There goes my theory that LMT doesn't give a chit on F&F!

Send it back and I will find one that is scratched and dented.

This person shared with me how he had just received his new LMT upper/lower with a worn appearance (some dings, scratches, dents). When he asked his dealer about it, he was told that LMT ships out their rifles/parts in a carton without adequate shipping protection, resulting in parts rubbing up against each other during transport. It was also stated, and assumed, that since these rifles will most likely be used for military purposes, they (LMT) are not as concerned about it since the rifle will be roughed up in no time.

Obviously, there are some who may not think it's a big deal to them, but for others who are dropping serious coin and expect a product that at least looks new... it may be an issue.

Are there any LMT owners who've had any cosmetic issues? Do you think this dealer is "full of it"?
LMT packs there components very well. Im a LMT dealer and have never been dissatisfied on how they do it. Each individual upper is packed withn its own secure box and then placed within a larger box. Granted LMT's are based on performance and not looks they dont beat them up. I think your dealer was covering his 6.

When I got a LMT upper on My Bushmaster, the gunsmith told me that the lot He ordered contained several banged up, scratched recievers. Mine was in good shape and works great.

I can't remember the details but, I remember being surprised at how badly packaged my LMT carbine was. I don't think there was any bubble wrap. It was just wrapped in some newspaper in a crappy cardboard box. And the muzzle had poked through the box!

That being said, surprisingly the finish was fine.

Those looking at LMT's packaging should make sure you are getting it factory direct. If ordering it from a dealer theer is no use commenting on the packaging.

No problem! You can also outfit it with some of those crappy dented and dinged Omega rails and Troy BUIS you may have been shipped. We know that none of those items will function properly if not cosmetically perfect. Therefore, I will step up, and take one for the team, and properly dispose of all dented, dinged, and otherwise damaged gear you may have. And all free of charge to you! Aren't I just a swell guy?

Yeah I ordered mine from Grant so it was repacked, but I figured if they had drug it behind the UPS truck wrapped in a Kleen-ex on the way to him, then it wouldn't have looked so nice when it got to me.
