Thumbs down New should look new.

Hey! I fully agree an AR is an tool to be used and abused. But new should be new condition. Free of any major marks. Who wants to buy a new Chevy with dents and scratches? Anyone? You should get it replaced. As well as your dealer.

NO, they are ABSOLUTELY not meant to be abused. Why abuse anything? Use it the way it is supposed to be used and don't cry over marks but do NOT abuse it. Abuse is abuse and not necessary.

    Define abuse.

Theres different ways to define abuse. I guess I should be a little specific. Abuse- intentional neglect. Never cleaning, shooting Wolf ammo. Thats abuse. A hard day shooting a couple thousand rounds. Barrel smoking, red hot, a huge pile of brass. Thats the abuse I enjoy. Then the abuse on myself. A couple hours cleaning and reoiling everything. Lighten up. Relax and drink a beer and get laid.

I am using the English definition of abuse. That is all.

Believe it or not there are a lot of posers that like to say they abuse their rifles to look cool.

Your last mention of abuse is just hard use, not abuse. I was just trying to illustrate the difference you just pointed out.

I happen to be drinking beer and ckulling out right now. Getting laid will have to come later.

My 16 inch upper had a slight blemish in the finish on one side, but not enough of an issue to worry about. My charging handle catch also broke at the roll pin, before I even had a chance to fire the upper. I called LMT and they made it right and sent me a new charging handle, good CS. I have also heard that they have taken steps to improve their QC and that these types of issues should be reduced.

Did LMT actually say there's in issue with QC?

My LMT Upper just arrived from Rainer Arms. And yeah, my upper is just covered in micro-tiny little nicks and dings on the receiver; on both sides. And well as some uneveness in the finish. There is also a rub/light scratch on the barrel up near the FH. The fit and finish isn't anywhere near as nice as the Noveske N4 that I saw the other day.

But, seeing as how I plan on dinging her up anyways, I am not too worried about it.. lol

The one i bought from Grant looked real nice when I go it..it still does but I've yet to do any extended training sessions with it and I keep it in a Storm case in the trunk on duty. I have 4 carbine classes scheduled this year to attend so it will be getting some hard use.
