    There is a lot of people speaking on a subject they are not spun up on.

    If you haven't at least read the engraving procedures for NFA paperwork your expertise is probably not warranted here.

    Re: Engraving disaster.

    Why fill it at all? Can you get it blasted all together and refinish? Then engrave under the trigger area.

    My prob with magwell is you cant cover the engraving. So...no addons. No redi mag or the like.

    Really?

    The lower is what must be engraved...the lower is the sbr...the lower is the firearm...it has the s/n.
    You can engrave the barrel, lower, or upper receiver on an SBR.

    I'm not sure that that's correct either.

    Uhhh... I honestly don't think this is accurate since there are no serial numbers on the barrel.

    Maybe I'm wrong...but I have NFA stuff. Hell...I have been wrong ONCE before.

    I stand corrected. I had to look up some stuff. But I dont see any reason to do that in this situation.

    You would need a good reason and I would contact local ATF office first to be safe.

    1) On the Frame or Receiver the Serial number;
    2) on the frame, receiver, or barrel the following additional information;
    A)The model;
    B)The caliber or gage;
    C)Your name or name of the Trust in the case of a Trust (no abbreviations are permitted for the Trust name);
    D)The city and state (you can abbreviate the state with the official 2 digit state code)

    It might not make sense to engrave the barrel or upper since you might be swapping out various barrel lengths, therefore you might need to engrave all off your short barrels or the upper receiver they're attached to, but you don't need a good reason. It's the law.

    Re: Engraving disaster.

    Hmac...lets be clear. If he is sbr'ing a lower that has already been manufactured(which he is) then he would also need the s/n on the barrel. It is a removable part.

    To the OP. Be certain as to what is required if you go this route. You are the manufacturer. If you engrave somewhere other than the receiver you will need all the info.

    Additionaly you will need to engrave any other upper you attach.
