The fact that I have to wait to get it back until after either the trial or the investigation is over just means I lived through the encounter. YMMV.
Giving up an LWRCi is actually a good thing!

Apparently common sense was legislated/litigated out of existence years ago. I use shotgun and handgun, but have no problem with SBR either. Whatever floats your boat.

The reason I ask is I would hate to have a $3,000 SBR be taken away into evidence, abused by the collecting officer/lab tester and then sit in a locker for months to years as the trial progresses. I love the idea of using a 9” 300 blackout with a suppressor for home defense, but leaning towards using my 16” unsuppressed or 12 gauge/handgun for home defense.
Replacing a $600.00 handgun or shotgun is easier to stomach than waiting another 6+ months to get another SBR stamp.

    Thoughts?
I tell my friends that all of my guns are tools that I have no problem tossing into a deep lake should it becomes necessary....obviously tongue in cheek.

My thoughts are that if you're not willing to use it, then why have it?

I suppose you could just be a collector, then you probably shouldn't shoot them at all?

Jeez, how often do you have to shoot that thing to defend your home that your hearing is in further jeopardy?

So I shouldn't worry about? Nahh, I think I'll stick with my plan.
When is the last time you fired a gun indoors without hearing protection?

Could that have something to do with my "Tinnitus" being so bad now? 338 win mag? All safety was in place "EXCEPT" Hearing protection, damn it.

Hearing damage is cumulative. The number of shots ordinary people fire from their SBR in defense of their home isn't enough to damage their hearing.

But your situation might be different. You should stick with your plan. Suppressors are great if legal.

An un-supressed 5.56 10.5" barrel is approximately 160dbl one round fired is roughly the equivalent noise exposure of 40 hours in a noisy work environment.
I agree that it's cumulative exposure, but that is no reason to ignore the fact that firing a gun indoors is not good for your hearing.
By your silence on my other question; is it safe to say you've never fired a gun indoors without hearing protection?
You do what you want; I'll stay suppressed.
