Advice for incoming San Antonio resident

There's about a 50% chance I will be moving down to San Antonio in the next few months.
Can anyone suggest communities to live in that would be within 15-20min drive of Lackland AFB?
What is the job market like for early childhood educators?
Would living in the SA area be difficult for people not fluent in Spanish?

SA is a nice town. NW SA puts you 15-20 min from Lackland.
Spanish isn't that important.
