Would it be a semi auto that accepts a removable magazine and has a pistol grip, or an adjustable stock, or a threaded barrel, or a barrel shroud, or a thumbhole stock...etc.

So yes, of course it would.

I can't believe how many people...even gun people...are thinking that if the specific brand or model isn't listed it won't be banned.

It was more wishful thinking than anything else. I know they want to ban our AR-15, I guess there is no loopholes.

the really dangerous ones are the Red Riders with a compass in the stock.

What makes these Rifles so universal is we have the ability to change a feature they are upset about, and it will put the rifle back in compliance. There are so many different things that we can modify. Granted the outcome may change the over all looks of it, but it will still be an AR of some sort.

Looks? I don't know about you, but I consider going from removable magazines that hold as many rounds as I want...usually 20 or 30...to a single internal fixed 10 round magazines to be more than a change in the way the gun looks. That is where this is headed.

And even the bullet button is a huge step backwards, and that's the best Cali guys could come up with to 'get around' their ban. (and it wasn't truly getting around it since it did reduce the functionality of the rifle)

You ARE correct about this, BUT... the bullet button allows us to legally have our ARs and keep them intact and fully functional. Four turns of a little screwdriver, makes my rifle identical in function to any other AR from anywhere in the country. I mean that literally. Rifle in one hand, screwdriver in the other. Four turns and my mags drop free with the push of my mag release button. Of course, CA law says I must cross state lines into a legal state before I preform this operation. We are also allowed to have as many 30 round mags as we want, as long as we had them pre-ban. Refurbishing old mags with new parts is specifically permitted in the verbiage of the law, essentially making my newly refurbished mags just as legal as my old beat up mags.

    ... just sayin'.
