Very, very important on these lower magnification scopes.

I've had my Vortex 1-6 for the last few months. After 2k rounds, I really like it. Although heavier than other comparable scopes, it doesn't bother me. This will serve as my multigun scope.

Definitely daylight visible and it is a SFP/2nd Focal Plane (Reticle stay the same size throughout the magnification range).

    Very happy with mine.

So both are daylight bright. Both have excellent FOV. The Mk6 has more reticule choices and is considerably lighter but costs quite a bit more.

Yup. The mk6 can be had for 1750-1800. I just saw one on ar15.com for 1650 w the cmr reticule.

If u can wait and u want the vortex, there are more reticules coming. I just wish the thing wasnt as heavy as a sledge hammer.

LOL, yeah, it is 25 oz which makes it 1oz heavier than my IOR 1-8 and 50% heavier than the leupold. I guess the positive to that is that the weight is in the center so it does not affect the balance of the rifle.

How critical is the eyebox and head position on the mk6? Saw the exit pupil was on the small-ish side.

The more i play with it, its a lot less critical in low light conditions. Also, im running a sopmod stock, theres a possibility my head is a bit to high. I need to try a CTR to see if there is a difference.

On a bright day w snow on the ground its definetly an issue. I dont know if its the glare or what but u need to be lined up. At dusk i turn the illumination on to 4 or 5, snap the rifle up to my shoulder and its there instantly.

It is not a red dot, but its damn close. Also being a ffp, the reticle is pretty fine/small at 1x. Most of my shots on 1x r gng to be 50yds or under or at critters on the move so i prefer little obstruction from reticules.

Again, this thing is simply amazing when light is fading.
