    NYTimes Article

I thought it was a pretty decent article (minus firearms). I liked the graphic of the broken down bag too. Now, to find that survival axe/hammer/shovel...

In no way do I make any money from anyone related to the firearms industry.

The last thing I would want anyone to know about me in NYC is that I was a prepper. What a huge target I would be.

IMHO I don't imagine a majority of NY'ers even consider them a possibility- they have been conditioned to be deprived......

"To the unprepared, the very word “prepper” is likely to summon images of armed zealots hunkered down in bunkers awaiting the End of Days, but the reality, at least here in New York, is less dramatic. Local Preppers are doctors, doormen, charter school executives, subway conductors, advertising writers and happily married couples"

-as they are in every other town

No No they would have you believe that "preppers" anywhere else are crazy, like the guy in Alabama who kidnapped that little boy.
