    Let's talk triggers

I've had my AR for about 2 years now and absolutely hate the trigger (spike's). My AK trigger (tapco G2) is much better. I've been looking at Geissele super dynamic line of triggers. I like flat triggers. I'm stuck between the 3 gun and combat versions.

For a general purpose carbine, is there any cons of running a match trigger?

There are tons of threads concerning triggers on the site. You can come up with so many various combinations of search topics on them that you will be reading for the next month. Geissele has a trigger for just about all of your wants. Notice I said wants! That is because what you want may not be what you really need for your application.

By the way I have 2 Geissele triggers. The SSA and the SD-C. Basically the same trigger but the SD-C has a flat trigger face. I'm finishing up a build now and will eventually drop in another SD-C in it. I like the feel of the flat trigger more than a regular trigger face.

Anything from Geissele is a "win."

I splurged and went with a sd3g. This will be my first trigger besides a worked AR trigger.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll splurge on it.

Definitively found this to be the case. Almost wish I hadn't because now every build I do requires an expensive trigger

    Let's talk triggers

Same. Bill has ruined me on other triggers. I don't care for flat triggers, but I have SSAs in every serious rifle.

I could start a mil-spec AR trigger mail order business with the pile of discards I have.

For a general purpose carbine it certainly isn't a need, but is a luxury. As everyone has mentioned, Bill's triggers are great, but only you can decide if the cost is worth the benefits based on the kind of shooting you do. If most of your shooting is inside 50 yards you probably won't see much benefit and your money would be better spent on training and ammo.

The Wilson TTU is also an excellent trigger and worth a look. I prefer single stage triggers and Wilson makes a great one. Geissele also makes a single stage that is very nice, though I only run his two stage triggers so I can't give any feedback on it. I have no doubt it's an excellent option.

I can say if any other Geissele trigger is like the SSA I have, you will be happy.
