I have an S3G in mine and I love it, the perfect trigger IMO.

The stock trigger in our pretty new DDM4 V3 is kinda rough before it stacks up and then the pull is too hard for our liking. My Colt's stock trigger is much better.

The LGS was trying to sell us a CMMG 2 stage, but sounds like most like the Geissele triggers.
Having personally used both, I can tell you that ANY Geissele trigger is significantly better than CMMG.

If you live anywhere near Ranier Arms they have a table full of lowers with different triggers you can try.....

To tell you the truth, I was playing with and swapping triggers in my rifles last night and the smoothest trigger I have out of 2xSSAs 2xG2Ss and an SSA-E (SD-3G not here yet) is a G2S I got from Grant. It is noticeably lighter than the SSA-E in both stages... The other G2S I had installed felt exactly like my two SSAs, maybe even a bit lighter, but nothing like that one G2s - it's golden - I guess I got lucky... You can't go wrong with it, IMO. I honestly regret buying the two SSAs and wish I bought G2Ss instead.

It is my new favorite Geissele trigger for a RDS carbine. I also think there is a good chance we will see a Super Tricon "E" version in the future.
what's the deal with the Tricon trigger? it looks like an SSA with a grooved trigger, no???

Pretty much. I threw one on my SR15 and its a winner in my book. I also like how it doesn't have as much of a curvature in the trigger.

The argument for the SSA is its versatility; it has enough resistance to control it in an 'asshole puckering' environment, yet it's light enough to squeeze off for more traditional target work.
The SSA is a great compromise IMHO, tho' there may be better options for pure target work. It is what you want if there is the slightest chance of anyone shooting back.

I have the SSA but feel that the reset is much too long. I've been doing some reading but I haven't seen anything Geissele offers with a short reset and without compromising the SSA trigger pull. Am I missing something?

I realize that some triggers do indeed have a shorter reset than the SSA, but it is not necessary to let the trigger out all the way to the first stage to fire a following shot.
In times of ripping off a series of shots (at steel plates for instance) I can't notice an excessive reset.

I agree. Although I wonder if the SD-C or SD-E would have been a better choice for me but I'll need some more range time to decide.
