    PRI Fat Boy gas tube?

I couldn't find anything via the search feature, so here goes:

Anyone used one of the PRI "Fat Boy" carbine gas tubes as a fix for an over-gassed carbine? If so, did it help enough to warrant the $49 price?

Strikes me as less optimal to actual gas restriction. I've spent a lot of time and effort on gas flow the last 2-3 months. It's fun and exhausting.

I'd try one if given the chance, but I wouldn't pay for it on a gamble.

Yeah, I'm not sure enough about it to drop nearly $50 for it, but I'm putting together a 10.5" SBR, and so I was thinking maybe instead of the band-aids on the back-side of the weapon, maybe this gas tube might help. Hopefully someone has tried it out and can give a short review...

They don't work. Why not use a proper barrel rather than a band-aid. Since you say you are "building" what barrel are you using?

I guess I'd ask.. how do you know it's overgassed if it's not built yet?

Good point! I don't. This is just a pre-emptive question, plus I have been curious about it since the SHOT Show.

A 11.5" DPMS (CL'd 1/9") being cut down to 10.5" by ADCO as we "speak". Unfortunately, it was all I could find in my price-range due to the current state of AR parts...

Why would anyone want their rifle to run at 700RPM? The RPM on the M4 is what it is for a reason.

I wouldn't do it but since you acted before asking not much can be done. I would contact ADCO and ask then to measure that gas port.

Does it have/will it have a fixed FSB?
