Wow, this is heartbreaking! I would sure miss my animals more than my weapons, but wouldn't want to lose them either.

I don't have a safe, don't really have room for one or the money. I know those aren't good excuses, and would really seem insignificant if a fire occurred, but that's where I'm at right now. I'm constantly thinking about getting one though.

Sorry about your losses especially the pets. If I was in this situation I would try to restore the guns myself. First thing I would do is get them cleaned up as much as possible and disassembled as far as possible. I would start with a pressure washer then a brass wire brush (Mcmaster.com).

    Expensive lesson learned from fire.

I just noticed Sturdy Safe has a new upgrade option:

    NEW! 4g Body & 3/8" Door

More steel, equals more security. Upgrade the 7g body and 5/16" door to a 4g body and 3/8" door! The 4g actually mikes out to .220 in., which is approximately a 1/4" thick. This is only available for a few sizes. Adds about 75lbs to the bottom line.
Only $275 for their small safe.

Sorry I haven't had time to get anything going. I have been so busy with work it's not even funny. Spring is almost here and when you work for a Farmer that means planting time is almost here. Once things calm down a bit I will be able to do get things rolling.

I know that feeling. I'd like to see your stuff rebuilt if it can be and if not replaced.

All these posts from kmrtnsn and not a single "thanks for the offer" in 8 pages!

I'm sorry to hear about your pets and the guns too of course. Keep us updated with the process.

Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~ Paul Howe

Thank you! I have been talking to kmrtnsn and a few others through PM's. Like I said work has been crazy plus stuff I have to do around home as well. When I am not working on the farm I am gutting the house or a few other projects that need to get done. That reminds me if I am not working this Saturday I will be making a few phone calls.

I'm keeping an eye on you! Lately I've been secretly working for the "polite reply" forum watchers....

Obviously I'm just screwing around. I didn't want you to miss an opportunity for help from a solid member like kmrtnsn.

I wish you the best through this process and hope the house is restored fully in short order. Keep us posted.

I just want to say THANK YOU for bringing this to public attention. It finally got me up and made me buy the safe that I have been putting off for too long. It is not the best safe, but it will do and me investments are safer for it.
Again, thank you and I am still sorry for your loss.
