I've also seen rumor that some units made a gl/ssc with a 12.5" barrel and knights armament URX II midlength rail. The gl/ssc is a dream for me, I will get one eventually.
What's the diff on this rail? It looks like a longer version of a RIS II???

This is gonna sound pretty stupid, but here goes:
I really like the RIS II rail. I have the MK18 version on a DD MK18 and the M4A1 version on a DD 16". Other than being in the middle of these two, can someone help me understand the practical benefits of the GL/SSC (12.5" barrel) vs either the BLK II M4 or the 10.3" MK18/CQBR?

more maneuverable than a full length carbine, and I'm guessing better ballistics with the slightly longer barrel than a 10.3" CQBR. Plus, it has the option to mount the 203.
I have both RISII rails as well, the GL/SSC (unicorn) is 1" shorter(I think) than the M4A1 RISII. But since they are unobtainium, I'll be using the URX II Midlength rail, which are also becoming harder to find.
Ah, makes sense. Shortest gun possible that can still mount an M203.
