Well as it has been discussed numerous times before, here are some highlights.

    1. More unburned powder.

    2. Less stabil shooting platform and accuracy.

    3. Less stable bullet.

    4. If used with a suppressor most manufacturers will void any warranty if you have a baffle strike.

Why are these useless range toys?

Anyone else second the Noveske opinion and has anyone had experience with the POF pistol?
If I was deciding between noveske and POF, I would choose Noveske and that is where I put my money when I purchased my rifle.

If you insist on an AR pistol get Noveske. Do not look elsewhere.

The only reason to have an AR pistol is to have it until you get your stamp.

    Again, Noveske.

Or you live in California, like me..... we obviously cant have SBR's so an AR pistol is the next best thing. Besides they're kind of fun.

Help a noob choose his AR Pistol

If reliability, or efficiency are a concern with short 5.56 pistol platforms then I offer a suggestion. Go .300 BLK. In a 9" barrel, it's almost equally as efficient as a 16 in BLK. And the KE at this short length, is much more powerful than an equivalent 5.56 barreled pistol platform.

Ultimately, I agree with folks on the aspect of utilizing a "pistol lower" till you get your stamp.

This will help a 7.5 run with 5.56

I've not had hands on experience with the pigtail, but I'm sure it will increase overall reliability. But with a 7.5" barrel the round is still going to be blinding, and the round will not have the same efficiency of a 16-20" barrel. Whereas, a 300 BLK round in that short of a barrel will be closer to 100%.

The pigtail looks promising in the fact of reducing chamber pressure to aid in positive extraction. I just question the terminal performance of a 7.5" 5.56 vs a .300 BLK.

And for the other poster, I live in NC, and you're right, I should just pursue a SBR. But the impatience in me runs deep, and yes, the main purpose of this gun is to spit rounds downrange.
This is usually the reason folks consider AR Pistols... Get a quality AR of 16" in length now... Submit your NFA forms now.. Learn, shoot, train, rinse repeat.. 5.5 to 6 months later you'll have your tax stamp, and be good to go. I assure you, you'll be much happier this way.

Mmm, useless guns. I built this on RR stripped parts, PSA 10.5 barrel, PSA parts kit, think it has a h1 buffer and carbine spring? About 2k the tube with no real issues. Not a tack driver, hates anything above 55gn but I load a 40gn Nosler varmint road that's pretty good shooting. Have taken a few rabbits and a feral cat or two.

Am I too cheap to sbr? No, this ones not on a 4473 anyplace. I like non4473 guns. Stamp puts me in ownership. I like uncle Sam not knowing exactly what I have.
