Outstanding posting, Red, and very well stated. Thank you for participating. I truly hope LWRC reads this and changes their ways, but I suspect it's hopeless.

I expect another update from my dealer tomorrow about whether any of the 500 IC's will ship this week.

Do you have any evidence that LWRC sold our 500 IC's to someone else?

Cant believe we have a guy join just to post a bitch fest about a rifle release not being on time. Its not like anything has been going on over the last couple of months that has affected supply of black rifle parts or anything.

Communication is a double edged sword and they are getting one of them for trying to give ETA's. If I was running that side, there would have never been a hard release date other than "expected in 2013's line up"... I'm not sure I have ever seen a company pre announce and then meet the release date. I think that is why you see companies doing what BCM did with Travis's gun. They made the announcement when they were damn near ready to box em up.

The Saudi and Jordanian contract are not these rifles and never were. I Have personally seen what weapons went where, as there is currently training going on with said weapons right now.

The IC is very close to being released but it is still 30 days or so away. Possibly sooner, but I would rather give myself a little buffer.

The good news for LWRCI is that they are building guns that are in very high demand just like BCM, Noveske and LaRue. Just thank God you aren't waiting two years for guns like many others in your shoes. This is nothing new in the industry and I'm surprised that people are acting as if it is.

Back in 2008 I made the mistake of ordering an M6A2 upper from LWRCi.

Same deal delay after delay (this was when they were switching to CHF barrels), quoted 6 weeks, 9 months later it showed up.

The screw to attach the front site was marred from install. I know this did not effect function but for what I paid I expected some one to take the time to assemble it with out screwdrivers slipping and marring screws, then I would have liked quality control to look at it and decide to replace the screw, they did not.

On top of it all the upper was a malf o matic and shaved brass and had lots of failures to feed, as well as things like carrier tilt that the LWRC was not meant to have. It also eats op rod springs in a few hundred rounds, peening out the end and adding a curve to the spring.

Sent it back, they replaced the upper receiver with out articulating why. In doing so they ripped an anti rotation tab on the rail. The gun was not fixed, thus ending me wasting my time with LWRC or their products.

I guess you can say my experience with LWRC sucked. I hope once you guys get your guns they actually work.

D90: the black rifle rush has only affected 4 of the IC's 15 months of missed deliveries. Not an excuse. And be happy that we're not waiting 2 years? You do realize that orders for the rifle started in January of 2012? We will have been waiting almost that long at this rate.

I do agree on the ETA/communication stuff, though. If they never said anything, this whole delay issue wouldn't be an issue in the first place. There wouldn't be any seemingly-broken promises nor seemingly-deceitful answers. For the the record, I don't think that they're being deceitful, but I can understand why others feel that way.

TMS: wow, that blows. I've had similar experiences with their customer service not fixing cosmetic and finishing issues (had a canted rail on my M6A5 that Wilson Combat fixed for me when they Armor Tuffed the rifle; yes, WC had to fix an LWRCI problem for me). You'd think for the price of their rifles, they'd really have that locked down. Though I've never had the function issues you did. All of my guns have been rock solid and outperformed my DI carbines in almost every way.

Even BCM didn't get the release perfect. I'm not complaining nor do I mind, but they said February as the ship date on the Jack. But did not ship them until (and they seem to have shipped them all at once) the first part of March.

Of course, we were told Mar-Apr when we actually ordered them. In any case not a big deal.

Point being, no project is ever completed on time or within budget.

So it took BCM 20 or so days to get the shipped after saying Mar-April....big difference between that and 15 months of not delivering when promised.

I feel for you guys...truly do. For all of you waiting on the IC due to the MSRP lock...you can score a Knights Armament SR-15E3 MOD1 at MSRP from Lawmen's...Knight's defacto retail shop. Unless you absolutely have to have a piston gun or the IC specifically the SR-15 is definitely a tier one AR-15...some would even argue a better gun than the IC. The wait is currently a solid 60 days...though that may jump one everyone reads this. I've been seeing people constantly pay way more for lesser rifles on Gun Broker and the like...I think that's crazy when you can have an SR-15. I'm a huge KAC fanboy but for me...nobody does black rifles like the ones with Stoner on the lower. The only SR-15 with an extended wait is the LPR...due to the Krieger barrels. Hell an SR-25 ECC can be had for the prices people are paying for MR556s and SCARs!

I'd jump on the KAC in a heartbeat if it had an adjustable gas block. I run all my rifles suppressed.

You definitely fall in to LAV's category for someone who should go piston. I wanted one for the collection until I read his Do you shoot suppressed, are you running an SBR or do you plan on long periods of rapid fire...then I figured....hell I guess I don't need a piston driven AR!

    Welcome to the gun industry.

LWRC isn't the first nor will they be the last to suffer these kinds of delays, whether self inflicted or from outside factors. Here is a partial list of recent products that suffered continual delays:

    Robarm XCR
    Shrike upper
    Colt 901
    LaRue PredatOBR/Suite Case OBR
    LWRC REPR
    LMT MWS
    Masada/ACR
    Fortis/Bren Ten
    Colt 1020
    Anything made by Kel-Tec
    S&B 1-8
    AAC 90T suppressors
    SCAR rifles
    HK45 series
    SIG P229 in .40
    etc. etc. etc.

If you are waiting on a gun for a long time, you are part of a long tradition of frustrated, irritated would-be gun owners. Don't feel bad, everyone at one time or another has been told "just two more weeks" when in fact it's months or years before release.

    Suck it up buttercup.
