I work in the aftermarket Automotive industry and deal with mostly Tier 1 suppliers at my business, and its the same thing.

Its one thing to keep delaying the release of a product. It is a whole other world to SELL a product with a delivery date, then keep pushing the date and then finally say they won't discuss it.

Taking that 500$ and refusing to refund it is totally different.

It would simply be inconceivable to me, that I would ever at my business tell a customer that I had taken 500$ from that I would not talk to them about WTF is going on.

If they didn't take the 500$ or were willing to refund it, that would be different, but they really screwed the pooch on this one.

To be objective here, they haven't taken $500 on the IC. LWRCI hasn't made a single dime off the IC's, in fact. No deposits, no prepayments, no down payments.

The only people that took money were certain distributors/dealers that required a down payment prior to reserving one of the 500 -- a down payment that LWRCI hasn't touched.

Since Sandy Hook, LWRCI has implemented a down payment system for those placing orders for new rifles, which is where the confusion stems from. This was to prevent dealers/distributors from placing a bunch of dummy orders that the dealers/distributors couldn't possibly provide. Right or wrong, that's where the prepayments are.

Well then that is a cluster **** and LWRC is not as in the wrong as I thought. When I bought my upper I bought it direct from them.

That said there should be something in place so the distributers can cancel their order and refund the customer or they should refund the customer and resell the 500$ deposit to some one else based on them getting to pay the MSRP if it ever shows up.

No sir, you ordered a rifle from LWRC. Not LWRCI. The problems from back then are well noted and are no longer an issue.

Hate on em for the IC debacle all you want, it is deserved at this point honestly. However, the products are still great. Mine run like pissed off sewing machines, but YMMV I guess.

So d90king, LWRC also has a contract with Jordan? I had only heard about the Saudi contract. Are these contracts being filled on time?

Where did you hear that the IC release is still "30 days or so away"? Every week now my dealer has been saying that LWRC forecasts delivery in just another week, just another week, just another week. Now we're back to 30 day forecast deliveries? Unbelievable! This from a company that prides itself on having superior customer service. They'll provide almost no information. When they do, it turns out to be wrong.

To the best of my knowledge, the contract with Jordan predates the Saudi contract by quite some time.

Not so happy anniversary. 13 months ago, I ordered one of the first 500 M6IC's. I thought I'd have it by May 2012, but it still hasn't arrived. LWRC's forum has no information whatsoever about the current status of these rifles. Forum participants no longer ask when the IC's will be shipped for fear of angering the forum moderator gods. LWRC customer service won't provide any information. Now my dealer won't even respond to questions about the status of these rifles. What a fiasco!

LWRC isn't the first nor will they be the last to suffer these kinds of delays, whether self inflicted or from outside factors. Here is a partial list of recent products that suffered continual delays:

    Robarm XCR
    Shrike upper
    Colt 901
    LaRue PredatOBR/Suite Case OBR
    LWRC REPR
    LMT MWS
    Masada/ACR
    Fortis/Bren Ten
    Colt 1020
    Anything made by Kel-Tec
    S&B 1-8
    AAC 90T suppressors
    SCAR rifles
    HK45 series
    SIG P229 in .40
    etc. etc. etc.

If you are waiting on a gun for a long time, you are part of a long tradition of frustrated, irritated would-be gun owners. Don't feel bad, everyone at one time or another has been told "just two more weeks" when in fact it's months or years before release.

    Suck it up buttercup.
You missed the biggest one. HK416.
    We miss you, AC.
    We miss you, ToddG.

I can't believe this bitch-fest has gone on for 7 pages. It's like we took this right out of the arfcom playbook.

As for the wait... It is what it is. Unfortunate, but a sad reality. I hope for all of you that these rifles are delivered soon. I know how frustrating that can be.

I understand there are a number of good experiences with LWRC. I also know there are many bad experiences. For those on Lightfighter or Usual Suspect Network, read Mick-boy's thread on issues with LWRC. Not only did almost half of the 8" uppers in Afg not work along with REPR's, LWRC stated it was likely operator error. They had to literally walk them to LWRC's front door where they finally acknowledged the issue.

I know LWRC isn't as bad a some other companies in terms of service, but they're also not as good as some others. Knowing of these issues with their rifles, (of my personally owned and rarely shot 8" PSD, REPR and M6, the M6 had extraction issues that a new carrier group did not correct) and their customer service concerns, I'm not shocked to hear of these delays.

At the same time, I understand the influence of outside sources with the current climate, but that doesn't cover the year's worth of delays before that.

Regardless of my views, those buying this rifle for hobby use will likely be well served. If it's for duty use, I just hope you spend the time to assure function before putting it to use. Not that I think they're all bad, but I do think the chance of having issues is higher than that of BCM, Colt or similar.

Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~ Paul Howe

Excellent overall post, this especially stood out to me.

Personally i'd rather not be on a waiting list for a year to be a guniea pig for a new rifle from a mfg that has recorded past issues. Especially when we have so many other viable and proven options.
