After having an EOTech553 and M4s for a few years, for the sake of saving weight alone, the Micros are the way to go. I have five of them, 2 four moa, 2 two moa micros and 1 R-1 on my 1187 shotty. I just painted over the silver coating. The R1s are the best thing going if you can find one and they are as durable as the H/T-1s. I'd jump on Grant's package deal.

TN Redbreast - I'm envious about your recent purchase and at the right price. None of the Walmart's in my area sell rifles.

Spend the money for a quality red dot, don't skimp. The Aimpoint is an excellent choice. The newer EOTech's are another option. The XPS or EXPS seem to be more reliable due to the battery location. No they don't offer the same battery life as an Aimpoint. IMHO though I like the EOTech reticle.

Thanks, Aimpoint PRO was a last minute contender but is it worth the $450-$500 price Tag over the Micro-T and C3?

*Sorry about the "Buy Button" anxiety. Just a bit of money and wanna make sure its well spent lol

Now starts the real path of my journey, my primary was the CCO (Aimpoint Comp M2) and it handled well and lasted 13 months of desert life and gave me a expert at the range each time, but this wasn't using my own money it was the Armys. Was wondering since this had been dubbed the more Professional M4 Reference Site on what people opinions are for a solid scope and to help me get through the fog of war deciding Red Dot (CCO) vs Magnification (ACOG) type scopes out there... maybe even suggestions for both types for Best Bang for the Buck since we all (sadly) do have to budget these days and value is a hard thing to come-by.

Because, yes I know you can spent $3000 on a gun in a blink of an eye... but the lower the price the features go away as well as quality so im trying to find a great balance.

If you look hard enough on forums..you might find an old retired Comp M2 just like the one you had in sand land for under $300

TN Redbreast - welcome neighbor and great find on the Colt!

I also recommend the Aimpoint PRO or Micro's.

Cant decide if its worth $90 to be able to chose your dot size, get a black housing, NV capability, and better water proofing.
