Help Please: new to Aimpoint Micro H1

Make sure you zero irons first. Then lollipop your red dot to the tip of your front site post as you look through your rear sight. That should get you on paper with the red dot (but not zeroed). When zeroing your red dot do not look through your irons, flip them down if possible just to make sure you don't. To make sure you are doing it right, flip up your irons and look through the sight at your red dot. The dot should be in the center of the optic and the irons well below the dot in the bottom 1/3 (if you have a 1/3 mount). Now then look through your rear iron sight and it should bring up the iron sights and the red dot should be sitting right on top on the front sight post. That should help you know the difference between looking through one or the other.

not sure if I should start a different thread. If so, Admin can PM me or start a different thread, whatever is most helpful to anyone.

so, I finally fired more rounds in one visit to the range. I took 100 rounds with me so I can get re-acquainted with the rifle and H1.

Unfortunately, the H1 started failing on me. It would turn off and on. I have to remove the battery out of the case, re-seat, fire again once the red dot came on. So after firing over 40+ rounds (I placed 20 on each 5 magazines), the red dot would turn off. By the time I got to my last 2 magazines, it completely, turned off, but manage to keep my rounds on target.

Battery was a Duracell DL2032 (made in Indonesia---bought at local Target)

Curious how common is this with either:
--- battery
--- Micro H1

switching to Energizer CR2032 now

25 meters at Article 2, Lombard IL

If you are still working with your optic, as far as zero goes, you definitely need a different target. I don't even know what that is you are shooting at. Looks like some kind of zombie type nonsense. A simple paper plate with a sharpie bulls eye would be 100 times better.

Ops, sorry, but I did manage to zero the H1 with OP target.

necro thread is about the H1 red dot failing on newish battery, not sure if the recoil is messing with it. The red dot would show when firing, but, not when aiming. About, the last 40 rounds, there were no more red dot.

Yes, that part made me confused. Like what everyone has said, maybe the battery cap/ door got loose, specially when I re seated the same battery.

Either way, it's not common...at all. If the new battery doesn't do it, then call Aimpoint and they'll sort you out.

As to the rest of it, you learned what some folks refuse to believe. Red dots billed as parallax free are not in fact parallax free.
