Removing padding from plate carrier (Skd pig)

So i've been running a SKD pig with tap gamma's for 2-3 years now at the range and at classes. Love the thing. Yesterday i was bored playing with it and i rediscovered another pocket which contained a 1/4" foam pad. The pad goes between your body and the plate and theres one on the front and one on the back.

I was curious so i took them out and wore my carrier around for a while. It was still extremely comfortable and i had no pinch points. The whole packege was slightly slimmer as well. Is this a terrible idea? Does anyone else remove these pads? Thoughts??

No problem at all. That is the soft armor pocket and we put the foam pad in for extra comfort when people don't run soft armor. If you like it without the padding, then rock on.
