I don't own an SBR but my AR pistols wear Inforce WMLs. One on a bayonet lug adapter and the other on a Gear Sector mount @9 o'clock. I had a bad experience with an X300 so I don't use them anymore. Both the X300 and M300 Scout will be considerably bulkier than the Inforce.

I use a Roschworks SL1 on my 11.5" gun, and have been very pleased with it. Perfect for a SBR with not a lot of rail space.

It's listed at 250 lumen. It's a really nice beam, I have zero complaints about it. Here's a blog someone did with a decent review...

They also make a version that's just the mount and sight, and you can add whatever 1" light you want. I'll get some pics today and post them.

+1 on the Roschworks SL1. I have one on my 11.5 SBR as well, and it quickly became my ideal minimalist light setup.

    WML at 12oclock

After not liking the X300 at 12 AT ALL with an absolute height optic, I'm really quite liking the light mounted at 12 with a 1/3rd optic. As to X300 vs WML, the X300 is great on pistols but I don't feel has the same ruggedness as some other options. I will only use SF for my handguns though.

great article on the RW SL1.

Kinda pricey (but hell, thats what I have in my current set up)….so going to have to save or sell some stuff but I think by combining both….it shortens the package.

in the mean time…..I will just remove my X300U and place my hand forward of the front sight.

    thanks for the info

I missed the boat. What mount is on your x300 light. Never seen those.

Unity Tactical....I bought the X300U used on this forum and it came with the UT mount/cover. I painted it to match my SBR.

Little late on this, but here's a few pics. This is an 11.5" gun with a 10" VTAC rail. I set the Magpul handstop (can't really see it in these pictures) so I could fully extend my index finger, and it wouldn't protrude past the handguard and get next to the flash suppressor (I've seen a blast injury from someone getting a finger too far forward, and it isn't pretty). The SL1 ended up in a perfect spot, easy to activate with my thumb, and the light just buts up to the end of the handguard. And just to avoid confusion, I shoot the rifle lefty.

The light that comes with the SL1 has a momentary push button on the rear. Constant on is accomplished with a twist to the tailcap, like any normal Surefire G2, etc. You can find a sweet spot by tightening the tailcap just enough that you can go momentary on just by pushing on the side of the tailcap, rather than having to actually push the button itself from the rear.
