I also run this setup (but regular x300), works very well.

I have an MRP cut to 11.5", and will be running the Surefire M300 in Gear-Sector's offset mount placed on the 9:00 rail.

To me, this seems like one of the best and least-obtrusive setups. Unlike the Larue offset mount, the Gear Sector has a rounded and smoothed-out profile without a lever sticking off of it. This makes the actual mount act just like an extension of your normal rail covers, and allows you to run your hand to the end of the rail under the light.

I think the X300 mounted on the 12:00 rail in front of irons is also a great option...which also allows for ambi-activation...but I'm not really a fan of how easy it is to activate the rocker-switch and flash the light unintentionally.

I stole this photo from Trident...so I hope he doesn't mind...but it's a good illustration of how this setup would look on a 10.5" MRP. I'm going to use the tail-cap for activation though, as I hate wires on my guns.

The big question is, what are you using this weapon for? Is this a duty rifle used during dynamic entries, or a home defense/plinking rifle? The polymer Streamlight TLR-3 light is very small, inexpensive, and bright, but not too rugged for building clearing.

On my Swat rifle, which is a Colt R0933 with a Noveske rail and LP gas block, I use an X300U at 12 o'clock moved to the end of the rail with the front sight directly behind it.

It works great for me and stays out of the iron sight and Aimpoint sight picture.

Easy to use/deploy right or left handed. Since I'm not a big VFG or hang everything off of the rail system kinda guy it keeps everything on the 12 o'clock rail. Irons, lights, lasers, optics all ride up top and leave the other three sides clear for my hands.

If you've not looked at the Unity Tactical Fusion System, it may very well be worth a shot. Take a gander at it here:

I'm running a X300 in the 10/11 o clock position on my 10.5" SBR. It's compact and very easy to manipulate the toggles with my left thumb. Here's a pic of my setup. I'm using a Gear Sector mount.

I'd simplify it to running an X300, or some 3V Scout arrangement (M300 or VTAC-L43V psuedo-Scout).

The X300 will be the best for ambi use, or with an odd mount they're pretty good. I run that on my 10.5" setup for that reason.

Otherwise, the most cost effective is the VTAC 3V L4 unit on a GearSector/03DG/IWC/VLTOR mount of your choosing - my other three rifles run either an M300 or the VTAC equivalent.

I have found that an X300 at 12 O Clock works best for me. Just move your BUIS back a few notches and you should be GTG. I run one on an MRP with KAC BUIS with no problem.

You could also look at Bucks new mount for use with Troy BUIS, it is a very clever mount, but with a 10.5 barrel you might not have the room for it, its definitely worth the look if you run Troy BUIS's...

    My SBR Weapon Light Conundrum

I'm happy with the 600 scout, granted mines 12", but I don't feel like its too big for a SBR. I do need a better mount, the integrated one loosens on its own.
