For the record, I have worked with SGC for five years now and I have never heard one of our employees say such a thing. If this happened years ago, then the individual you dealt with has probably left our employ, but if it has been within the last three years, I'd love to know who it was so we can fix it.

Please PM me if you remember a name, that way we won't derail this thread and we can respect the PERSEC of said individual.

Thank you for bringing this up, and we hope to see you on the range.

    Cheers,
    Dan
This was ~2006ish. I requested to talk to the gunsmith but was told he was unavailable. The gas rings answer came from the counter guy that I was paying ($25). But no, I don't remember any names.

Roger that, 2006 was before my time and the individual you worked with is no longer employed by SGC.

We aim to take care of the members of the M4C community, and I'm disappointed that you were let down by our staff in the past. If you ever have any issues moving forward, ask for me personally. I've been here for a minute, and I have had the opportunity to train with and work with many members here at M4C.

Wait, just so were on the same page. When you reloaded the round that did not fire into the magazine did you fire a different round between? Or, did you have the failure to fire with the same round multiple times?

Derp... somehow my mind glazed over the part where the OP wrote "This same sequence happened 4 more times then I was able to fire the rest without a problem. "

I would disassemble the BCG and lubricate the parts before I dunked the whole BCG in a tub of CLP. It would give you the opportunity to inspect the parts while you had it apart.
Thanks for that first tip - I didn't know that one... and sorry I wasn't being clear, I hadn't meant that HE should dunk it, I just meant in general if was doable since someone had mentioned disassembling it and lubing the whole thing... I was just wondering if in a pinch, if you could just dunk your whole BCG into a bucket of motor oil or something.

Yes, you can dunk your whole bolt carrier in a bucket of motor oil. You can also bathe in that crap and use it to tan.....

    Is it recommended? No...

Just lube, nice and wet and you're good to go.

Staggering gas rings is a myth as others have said. The rifle will function with one gas ring...

I didn't find anything out of the ordinary when taking the bcg apart. I generously brushed everything with froglube and followed every step to the "T" when applying it/prepping it. I'll be going out this weekend to see this stuff in action and see if the problem occurs again.

    this sounds crazy....

My friend had the exact same issue in his DPMS....broke it down...took the gas block off and brass clogged up the gas port and rendered it a single shot AR

Worth checking...look at your gas tube and see if there is residue around it...if it appears to be "clean"...might remover the FSB and check

I don't think that is the case here. The op is having problems resembling a misfire, not cycling issues.

I've never been to SGC, the name and rep that the Scottsdale name carries shies me away from it. Good to know that M4C is taken care of.
