Trijicon TA01NSN: Does It Still Have a Place?

I really like the idea of emergency BUIS on the top of the optic, and I'm fond of having a crisp crosshair reticle in some situations. But do you think that the BAC optics (along with proper training on implementation) overshadow any benefit of the BUIS? I am at a loss, as I have never used any of the TA01 models. I am on the market for an optic for a general purpose carbine. Without getting too far into that, I would really like to hear some answers in general, at least at first.

Here's the primary question: Does the TA01NSN have anything on (for example) the TA31, in general use?

Also, can the cross hair reticle be used with the BAC if it's a Fiber Optic model?

    Thanks

I like the TA01 the best out of the 4x line, but it needs to be complimented with a mini RDS in some arrangement.
Still not my favorite combo, but for 50 to 300 meters the TA01 is wholly usable.

    I agree with Failure2stop.

I've had TA31s and TA01s. I prefer the TA01 for longer shots due to the finer reticle and the fact that it doesn't bloom.

I ended up taping my BAC strip and getting another TA31 with the crosshair reticle before I realized I was just making it into another TA01...

What makes it your favorite, if it needs a MRDS to do what the 31 can do using the BAC?
