    Vortex Razor Gen 2 1-6x

Does anyone have any trigger time behind one of these now since they have been out for a few months? Curious to see what people think of the reticle, prior to dropping 1k plus for the optic. Couldn't find any new reviews with the search function.

I just got mine and I like it a lot. Its very similar to my Swarovski in reticle design except for a lack of wind marks. Its also very heavy at 25 ounches. But its got great glass, good turrents and its price point is very good for what you get.

I realize the SWFA 1-6 isn't really in people's hands yet, but does anyone have any experience with both to compare the glass?

Just got mine delivered today and you were right, this thing is a tank. Great glass and the field of view is a lot large than I would have thought. I am gonna run it in a Frank Proctor class next month and will have a detailed review of how it runs.

Got my Vortex 1-6x HD GenII the other day and took it out yesterday to zero, and then again today to run some drills with it.

    Some initial impressions....
It is a tank, but I could always beat someone to a pulp with it if need-be.

The field of view on both 1x & 6x is phenomenal.

The eye box is a little tight compared to my TR24G but still very good.

The illuminated dot is awesome and very useable in all lighting conditions.

Everything about the scope: turrets, clicks, machining, etc screams QUALITY.

With my Trijicon TR24G 1-4x during most drills shooting from kneeling at distances of 50-100yds I would dial the magnification down to about half (2-2.5x) because it seemed easier to get a stable sight picture with less magnification. With the Vortex 1-6x I kept in dialed up to 6x for everything within the intermediate range (50-100yds) without a problem.

A scope magnification lever is a must with this scope. The magnification adjustment is pretty stiff even with the lever. Without it quick magnification changes are near impossible. I got one of the plastic levers from 3Gun Stuff.

Yesterday, zerioing @ 100yds I was able to consistently shoot sub MOA goups with new scope on the 16" Noveske SS Middy pictured with my duty ammo (64gr Speer Gold Dot .223).

I thought the search for a new optic to replace my trusty TR24G that I have been running for nearly 4 years now would be very difficult but I think this Vortex 1-6x is gonna work out just fine

Anyway, more to come as I get more range time with it over the next few months prepping for the 2013 NPRC (National Patrol Rifle Competition)....

I'm yet to hear a negative review about this optic. The only thing that has been holding back from buying is the reticle as it currently is, hopefully their will be a greater selection available in the not to distant future. I whittled it down to either this or the MK6 w/ the TMR but I'm leaning towards the MK6 only because the greater utility of the reticle.

Optically, the Razor HD Gen II 1-6x24 delivers the highest level of clarity, resolution, color accuracy, light transmission and edge to edge sharpness obtainable.
