    Question about 700 SPS tactical

Did Remington ever make a factory SPS Tactical with the 20" threaded barrel with the 1 in 10 twist or was that solely the AAC-SD? My 700 SPS has the barrel described above but there is no mention of Tactical, AAC-SD or anything other than the caliber and Remington on the receiver. The booklet says SPS Tactical, threaded, 1 in 10. Everywhere I looked online shows the Tactical as 1 in 12 non threaded and then the AAC. No in between.

Not sure if it's any help but, my SPS Tactical AAC-SD receiver is marked "MODEL 700 AAC 8-D"

You sure it's factory, and not re-barreled?

Does the booklet give the formal name of the model and/or a model number? Also, what is stamped on the barrel? Do you have the box? The model number will be on the box.

I believe that at one time there was a limited run of R700P LTR's that had a 1:10 barrel, but I think they were fluted and don't recall if they were threaded or not.

That's the identical wording/model info and SKU as the book that came with my AAC.

The same crappy Ghille green Hogue/Gumby rubber stock and all. The only difference is the receiver stamp.

Probably from before Remington contracted with AAC for the Naming rights.

Cause I blacked out my sn# on the gun and then posted a pic with it on the sticker.
