    Install barrel nut, apply some sort of marking paint on the NSR and slide NSR over barrel nut essentially marking your hole on the receiver. Just a thought, good luck...

    Has anyone tried drilling the hole without a drill press? How deep does the hole in the upper have to be?

    Not sure of the exact depth. I'll post some pics when I get home this afternoon.

    ETA: I would assume its the same depth as the NSR side but I am not 100% sure.

    Id be too scared to drill into my upper. Im surprised they didn't engineer it with a little external tab (sorta like the one on the alpha rail.)

    The pin is slightly more than halfway into the MUR. As mentioned before this is a Vltor MUR so it was drilled post factory.
    The pin rests in the NSR at the halfway point.

    It look to be a VLTOR MUR, and if I had to guess, it was modified for a piston setup.
