Who has upped their dryfire game?

How? Do you have a program or just wing it?

Wanting to start? Here's a on screen par timer that was a hit in a handgun thread. http://www.predatortactical.com/uplo...ider082504.swf It runs on a loop

Almost every night, at least 30 minutes. It's good that I shoot more than I dry fire though.

Sure have. I got one of those SIRT pistols and started doing some of the drill Mike Hughes shows on his youtube channel. I also dry fire with my actual carry pistol but the SIRT allows me to reset and give me some feedback with the laser.

I'm definitely spending a lot more time doing dry fire. I used to just stand static and do draws and (more occasionally) reloads, but now I've started setting up mini-stages in the apartment to try to work on shooting on the move and target transitions.

The SIRT has been pretty helpful, and I usually go back and forth between that and my G17 in a given session. I'm doing my best to grip the shit out of the gun consciously so that I don't ingrain any bad habits now that I'm doing roughly 90% dry fire and 10% live fire.

I sure have. Everything from weak hand only, to e-reloads, to one handed manipulations.

I have. i have been watching, training vids and mocking targets in the apt. dont have a dependable timer, but i try to follow instruction just as if i were part of the class. finally headed out this sunday, weather permitting, to see if it paid off at all. if only ammo were available i could be training for real

I have, I need to come up with a solid dry fire program though instead of just dry firing at bad guys on the tv.

Do drills based on par times or set par times for drills/courses of fire you create in your apartment. Theblackknight put a link in his first post to a website with an adjustable par time that runs on a loop. That's the same website I use whenever I time runs of a dry fire drill.

There are some dryfire "workouts" out there. Ben Stoeger has a couple but they are geared towards IPSC comps(check youtube), you can change things to meet your purpose. I shoot IPSC, so when I want to dryfire for my carry gear, I focus on what is different. That would be draws(different holster), do my reloads from slide lock, and also turn off the light and get some white light action going.

I also am a fan of Mike Seeklander's programs. He works off the idea of a doing 5 or 10 reps slow and perfect, then 10 reps at fastest speed you can do the action correctly, then 10 reps at some point about that to kill yourself, much like at the gym.

Just make sure not to cheat yourself on seeing the sights. Its pointless if you get sloppy

sent from mah gun, using my sights
