Drop this kit in and leave out the O ring. Not needed.
Is the extractor swap really needed? I have read very little on their service life.

I like to use the method of standing the carrier up with the bolt face down. The rings need to be quite a bit more compressed for it to fall with the bolt face up. I will add that most weapons won't even begin to see failures until the bolt face up method fails, or even worse than that. However IMO it is such cheap and easy insurance to swap out rings that if it will not stand on its own bolt face down, I change them. Be sure that even after you change the gas rings that you perform the test again. I have seen a few carriers where people ream out the carrier when cleaning it, basically destroying the carrier.
