I was issued an ACOG and a carry handle, no flip up BUIS. I ended buying an ARMS #40L with my own money. Say what you will about other ARMS products, but their backup sights are GTG.

It's been passed around before, but an interesting read relating to the topic at hand.

I can understand where you're coming from. But ugliness pretty much defines everything I have, and study, on this site. AR's, Glocks, etc, etc. None of it is engraved with laminated wood.

We are 100% together on Aimpoints though. Two T1's and an M4 here. And plans on two more T1's by summer!

KAC 600m flip up rear BUIS. If you troll around you can find them for around 50.00 even though its a 150.00+ sight.
This sight has been dead nuts with my 6.8.

I found mine for $42... shipped.

After using Matech and Troy I prefer these. Matech's start popping up on their own, and while Troy's are nice I didn't like that they default to the wide aperture- KAC's are simple yet easy to adjust both windage and elevation. They also flip up and down fairly positively, and seem about as low profile as they can get.

Im not an expert and may be wrong, but I believe the answer isyes. Regular sights are 0-200 for big aperture then >200 for the small aperture.

Only one aperture for the KAC, but I think its the same theory.

They are simple and effective for my use. They have a low profile and do not require much rail-estate. I run a VLTOR CASV-M and I was only left with one notch to mount a rear BUIS. After trying many different sights and having all failures, I found the KAC BUIS fit perfectly. I do wish they had a tendency to want to stay up or some sort of locking feature but its not a big deal so far.

If you can find the KAC rears at 42-50$ that is a no brainer.

If you are finding them for that price, look for the telltale signs that they are stolen government property.

The "USMC" on the front is the first clue.

    Did not think of that.
    Let me rephrase.
If you find them at that price, and they are legal, it's a no brainer.
