I am not as anti-Matech as some.
Often for less than an MBUS, you get a metal, issue sight.
If money is an issue, I would at least check out a buddies to see if it is for you.

I like my MBUS rear sight. I have no problem with it, and it zeros fine. When it's on a pistol, its called polymer, just like the Glocks all you guys love.![]()
Running Troy's on two of my AR's and they have been rock solid.
Granted the extent of my "stress testing" is taking the AR's to classes and to the range & back... so not exactly pushing them.

KAC if you have the spare change.
Hard to beat the MBUS for value though, I can think of a lot of things on the gun I'd rather put $300 towards.
For value the MBUS2 seems hard to beat. Unlike the first gen Magpul MBUS, the second gen offers both apertures. $55 or so.
I also have the Troy rear folding battlesight people have mentioned, and I like it.
If I had a bunch more money, I'd go KAC
That's my point. Why have a big finger adjustable windage knob on your buis? You gotta use a bullet to change the elevation, might as well use the bullet to set the windage.
The windage knob doesn't cause any interference. I think it's ugly and it gets on my nerves.
The real moral of the story is use an Aimpoint. I've seen more ****ed up buis than Aimpoints...
I use only Troy.
We have two rifles in the house with MBUS, two with BCM branded Troy rear sights. I like the Troys, and the MBUS are on the wife's rifles. I'd love to see the MBUS done in machined aluminum but they'd be expensive as all get out. I like that both use a flip aperture with long and short range apertures, the MBUS can be adjusted for windage without tools, the Troys use a penny.
...and I only eat chocolate ice cream.
Please edit your post to reflect why you only use Troy. We are in the business of helping people around here.
- Why do you use Troy?
- What else have you used?
- How many sets have you had?
- How long have you been using them?
There's a big difference between "I have 4 sets at home, and one set on my carbine I use in A-stan*...blah blah blah" and "This is my first set of Troys I bought for my optics-ready Bushmaster and I love them".
No matter what your answer and background is it will help the OP in his choice.
*Yes, I have Troy's on my AR over here. I wish they were KAC's, but they were issued.
