From my own examinations of the bolt face, barrel, etc., I can't see any evidence of premature wear or failure at all. Everything looks the same as my Colt which has equivalent # of rounds through it.

The only doubts I have about the Del-Ton originated once I began surfing forums and reading all the negative posts on forums about them. One thing about Del-Ton I have learned is they build to a price point. Their high end products are built with superior components and care than their basic budget models. From what I have seen and experienced personally, the TRX model is a solid high-quality AR.

AND, Roger that on the Geissele G2S trigger! I installed it Thursday night and WOW what a huge difference! Just astounding how great that trigger feels and operates. Love, love, love that trigger! The only downside is, now my Colt trigger feels awful in comparison. So, I don't have any choice other than to put a Geissele in it too now.

I'll be sure to keep you guys informed as time and rounds go by and let you know of any issues or lack thereof with my Del-Ton TRX.
I am/was in the same boat as you. I just got back through some horse trading my very first AR, a post ban ASA that I bought back in 04. Trigger is horrible and before I got it back my buddy swapped a Bushmaster Commando barrel on it. I decided that even though its not my ideal barrel, I'm just gonna have the chamber reamed to 5.56 and replace the trigger group. Gonna keep a spare bolt with it and other than that its gonna be my beater/truck gun. As long as it shoots, feed it until there is a need to worry.

Sounds like a good candidate for a beater carbine to me.

Not sure if i would spend much on it besides a red dot, cheap light and sling imho.
