    Do you have the A5 buffer tube or just a standard buffer tube?

    No when i push the charging handle forward to leave the bolt locked to the rear it still slams forward. I could understand if i moved the handle slightly to the rear first to release the catch.

    That's your problem. The A5 buffer uses a longer Vltor tube.

    Thats it right there. You need the A5 tube to run the rifle spring and A5 buffer.

    SHOOT!!!You guys rock thank you for your help everyone, and I thought I was DONE spending money on this thing. Luckily I have a STD carbine buffer. I ordered the A5 because of all the rave reviews about it. Ill go put that in and report my progress

    Holy crap! Ya, good thing you function checked and asked before firing that thing.
    Nothing against you, Wolverine, just a general statement... This is another reason why one shouldn't build a first AR or build one for that matter without more experience and a better grasp on parts and how things work.
