    Barrel Nitriding Post-Extension Attachment/Headspacing Loosening?

I was told that Daniel Defense's Nitrided barrels are treated after the barrel extension is installed/headspaced. Has anyone ever had one loosen up? I know DSA had issues with this a while back. Kindof concerned about it.

The extension will tend to loosen up during QPQ.

It needs to be retorqued / indexed and then the gas port drilled.

If nitride is done as part of the barrel making process, it's fine.

Doing it to a complete finished barrel may not be a good idea.

I have not heard of DD having any issues, yet, from doing it that way, though, but it does give me pause and is concerning.

Nitrited barrels have the barrel extensions retorqued post finishing. If this wasn't done, then yes, there would be problems.---Daniel Defense.

    Thanks, just updating.
