Pretty much. From what I hear it will be approved for use when the new MCO on marksmanship comes out, but with all the budget cuts there's no way we'll get them issued (except with the IARs). Most guys buy their own stuff anyway so we don't have to worry about getting in trouble for losing it.

I would recommend G&RTactical for a VCAS with sewn in QD Swivels

I think the OP is trying to attach it to an A2 style stock, so QD swivels on both ends wouldn't work for him.

Impact Weapons Components, they may be able to help the OP with that.

There is not a single drop of "bluing" on the M4/M16. The black finish on steel parts is parkerizing, and the black finish on aluminum parts is anodizing. It annoys the shit our of me when people continuously use incorrect terminology.

Its all good fun. I have to laugh at the "not one drop of blue" statement - I believe the USGI ejector door springs are blued. But I am not here to poke fun at anyone. I really enjoy the interchange this thread has created - and thank you all for your inputs.

The VCAS is now an issued item. They actually have been issued for a few years now as unit purchased items originally.
