    Battlecomp 1.0 Review

I finally broke down and dished out the cash for the Battlecomp 1.0 & I've been using it on a couple ARs for a few month now and here's what I've found:

    Pros:

-Very good muzzle control during rapid fire strings.
-Minimal flash signature (see video for the night shooting). Similar to A2; perhaps slighly more but not much.
    -Minimal side blast.
-Machined stainless steel with a black oxide finish. It's holding up quite well.
-Crush washer included (it just annoys me when they're not...)
-Carbon doesn't seem to build up in any one spot on it so it requires minimal cleaning.

    Cons:

-Cost. It sells for around $120 +/- $15

All in all I'm pretty impressed with the brake. It lives up to their claims in the important measurable areas (blast/signature/muzzle control) so there's not much to dislike.

Here's a video with some day and night shooting, a discussion of specs and my overall thoughts on the brake:

Thanks for all that information!! I have been in the market and have started the research on what I would like. However, you answered all I needed.

    Thanks for the write up!

    BTW...
The night shots helped a lot. (the background noise is crazy!)

I broke down and bought a BCM comp, and now love it. Though I only shot it twice, a new requirement for me now on my AR's is a comp. I like their feel so far, also I like all my carbine to feel the same as much as possible.

I am thinking the Battlecomp next. Thanks for your review!

I just purchased a Battlecomp 1.0 and I was wondering if it's difficult to install, any problems getting the logo to line up at the bottom?

No more difficult than any other muzzle device with a crush washer. Turn wrench, back it off, turn wrench, back it off, etc. until you achieve the desired position.

Make sure you use a thin tappet wrench (Shown on left) or you'll get the wrench stuck and leave a scar as I did

The wrench flat is thin and a thicker wrench will get caught by the crush washer as it expands
