If this is the same ATI that makes crappy accessories, I wouldn't take it for free. ATI is a company that cannot make a castle nut correctly (the ATI castle nut I ordered did not have notches for staking). I wouldn't trust them to make a lower.

Could NASA design a polymer lower that would hold up to the kinds of things a 7075 lower will withstand? Maybe. Can some bullshit company make one and sell it to me for $80 when, even with the current retarded market, I can get a real lower for $120? **** no. There is no good reason to dick around with polymer lowers.

If NASA did an AR lower then it would have to some how perform an outreach service to the Muslim community.

If it signifies at all, the S&W 15-22 is poly upper/lower/extension tube. It's obviously not a combat weapon, but for its desired application, it's a good deal. Folks seem to shoot the snot out of them; the bolt is riding on steel, not plastic, and regular FCG stuff works just fine.
But I'm not butt-stroking with it or otherwise taking it to war.
Let me make a prediction, tho'...down the road, polymer will be a bigger part of the picture than it is now.

I could see this happen in the future for sure as the technology and manufacturing processes become more refined. I think in similar fashion to the Glocks where they fuse the metal slide rails into the poly frame we will see this happen with trigger pin holes and receiver extension threads becoming a metal insert.

Thanks. She's recovering well, labor was a little rough towards the end right up until it was time to push but things are going great now and he's pretty amazing.

Broken ATI on ARFCOM right now. Broke after two rounds. ATI will replace it for free. No thanks.
