Yes. Yes it will corrode in the pitting caused by Anodizing. There is an entire scientific speel as to why it does but in layman's terms, anodizing can cause pitting thus damaging the barrier oxide layer that contributes to aluminums corrosion resistance. This is why the military is moving away from anodizing and using Alodine when maximum corrosion resistance is needed. In the end however, 7075 aluminum or and decent aluminum is already extremely resistive to corrosion.

Here is an example of pitting causing corrosion.

I'm on my phone so kind of hard to see but,

    1) that looks like steel corrosion

    2) if that is indeed aluminum I have never seen that happen in my life and although not a metallurgist have done quite a bit of metal working in my life.

Even so, it is something that none of us should ever experience unless we work on a naval ship and take a dunk with our rifle everyday in the ocean. Any high grade aluminum should hold up for a lifetime whether it was anodized or alodined. Very minute differences separate the two after you get past the application process. Alodining is done through heat and Anodizing is done through electrical current.

I saw that on the other site. I like it. Then again I like the Seekins with the shark face.

    Personally, I don't like it.
    But that's my personal opinion.

I would be concerned about the FCG holes egging out if they were drilled and reamed after hard coating.

Yup. The design isn't for everyone. Your concern regarding the hole egging out since they were drilled after hard coating is an understandable concern however, the aluminum which was used is a high grade aluminum that is harder than the aluminum used in any lower I've seen to date. In all actuality, this aluminum didn't even need to be alodined. It was just some to take it above and beyond.

Aluminum currently used in high grade forged lowers. 7075-T6.

Aluminum used for this lower is 7075-T7351.

I can't lie.. It looks pretty cool but at that price I think I will stick with standard lowers for my builds.

Not my taste, but I'm glad to see experimentation with the AR platform continuing. And more options is better than less.

I certainly appreciate the machine work that went in to the piece. A lot more work than what's needed to produce the plain Jane lowers most produce.

I assume the builder has a multi-tool head on his CNC. How many tools are used to machine this unit?

The tensile strength of 7075-T7 is 73,200 psi.
The tensile strength of 7075-T6 is 83,000 psi.

    Good luck with your lower.
