well I dont care what anyone say, but anyone that can make an AR lower soo cool that I audibly go "WHOOOOOAAA" when I see it, has done something pretty awesome.
Congrats OP, that thing just rocks!!

My capacity for self deception is exceeded only by yours.
My thoughts in this monstrosity.
If you are going to reinvent the wheel at least invent something better.
The mag well grip is silly and almost no one with any carbine experience would use that method.
The design of the mag well would be prone not only go catch on hour gear or equipment, but I would be concerned about it snagging in confined spaces, vehicles, etc....
The non anodized parts are ridiculous and defies logic.

That is the dumbest argument I think I've heard yet. How far do you think the finger grooves stick out? You really think they are going to get hung up on something in a car? Yea, never mind the 30 round mag hanging 5 inches down, the optics sticking 2 inches obove or the flashlight hanging an inch off to the side. There are many other things likely to get caught on something rather than the finger grooves on the lower. Lastly, none of the aluminum on this lower is anodized. It is Alodined. Prior to being Anodined it is heat treated and hardened to T7351. The aluminum used here is already as hard as steal. Again, I'm sure the guy who created this lower knows what he's taking about and what he's doing. His background in designing weapon systems I'm sure is much more decorated than yours.

FYI, a lot of guys here speak from experience, not theory. Which is very beneficial for those of us who don't have much/any experience working with these carbines in full gear, in vehicles, etc.
I'd dial it back, but that's just me. This isn't the place you'll get your ego or your machining prowess stroked.

There's a certain percent of AR fans who like to do a gun kinda like a custom Bike... And that's cool and all.
It's just not the mainstream approach on this forum.

Please take care when engaging a member designated as an Industry Professional. You may not agree with his conclusions, but IG knows more about the ins and outs of the AR system than you, I or your new friend from Beretta will ever know. He has worked on hundreds, if not thousands, of these rifles, and has the credentials to match. He has also used them in a deployed environment, as opposed to simply approaching the system from a design and manufacturing standpoint.
Given that we are primarily concerned with training and operational employment on this site, as opposed to CAD/CAM experiments or exotic avant guarde designs, it naturally follows that something this flashy and senseless is going to garner some less than flattering comments. Keep in mind that these are directed at your equipment, and not at you personally.
Finger grooves are foolish. Exaggerated finger grooves are even more foolish. Paying vast sums for a component that will perform no better than a $75 lower in the real world is a judgment call, but one that is going to be subject to some scrutiny. I've done that with the KAC IWS and AXTS lowers, but it was to gain an actual operational advantage. This lower may be extremely well made, but in operational terms, it is actually less suitable for its intended purpose, not more. That is, unless it's intended purpose is primarily just for pride of ownership or show and tell.
Not laying a base of fire on your position, brother -- just asking you to think a bit, because most of your arguments to this point have been rather silly. Let's just leave it at "I think it's cool, and I like it." Enough said.

If by the Military, you mean, the Air Force, who just started a hands on "combat" experience of a whole week then you may be correct. One week "training" hardly qualifies as example to follow. The people on this form are not the same from TOS that this type of thread would fit in better at. These people are professionals and some of the more elite in the military with much more experience than a typical military member or LEO or street ninja.
Have you tried hinging the upper forward as to remove the BCG to see if it will not stop too early on the grooves on the front of the lower? I know with a certain rubber magwell grip that prevents the upper from hinging as far as normal. Also flared magwells will not work with 100 rnd dual drum mags(goofy anyways, hardly a reason to not have a flared magwell)
You said in your op that you expected some criticism. Why so inclined to defend each one?
You bought a product from a guy, at as high a premium as possible, that offers no realized benefits to make it "better" than a typical $100 mil spec lower. He chose to share his qualifications with you and put on a show of the product to make a sale. You have as much experience putting this lower to use as we do: none. People are simply voicing their concerns of possible issues and you take it personal and defend these possibilities with quotes from the man making money off the product.
If you would have actually used it and tried it out before showing it off on multiple sites based on solely aesthetics then this thread probably would have gone a little better.
Good luck with your lower.
Fair enough. Once it has a upper sitting on it and after a range session I will repost again with my thoughts.
By the way though. I paid no premium. I traded something for this lower that was equal to the value of what I would have paid for any other lower. Maybe just a tad bit more but let's face it. No other 80% manufacture would have been willing to let me borrow the jig and give me the CNC codes. I also factored that into the price as well. The manufacturer is actually a friend of mine that I know pretty well so I highly doubt he's trying to sell me something by giving false information. I am not receptive to criticism about the look because obviously that is personal preference. In the end however, I'm going to defend the man that made this lower when it comes to people questioning the structural integrity of it. I hope you can understand that I'm going to defend the word of a man who has over 20 years experience in designing, refining and building weapons systems. Until someone had those credentials I don't think they should be questioning the one who does.
I'm done until I repost with a fully assembled rifle.
