    I posted tensile strengths for 7075-T6, 7075-T7, and 6061.
    All ignored of course.
What questions? I'll try to answer to the best of my knowledge but I'm not the one who fabricated this. I can ask him whatever questions you may have though. I do know that there are different tiers of treating though. I do know the aluminum used in this lower was 7075-T7351. I'm sure he chose this treatment process for a reason and felt it would be the better option. From what I know, the difference in tinsel strength between T6 and T7 is pretty low however, the corrosion resistance of T7351 is higher than T6. Maybe that's the reason.

Are they hiring? 10 yr retirement sounds great!
I don't know if they are hiring. I am less than 10 years away from my 20 year retirement though

Mil-spec lowers are not made of 6065. (Which has a tensile strength of 45,000psi.)
They are 7075-T6, which has nearly twice the tensile strength.
    Making me quote myself.

ETA: 6061 also has a tensile strength of 45,000psi.

You bought a sub par lower, and came here to get validated.

    It didn't happen.

    Move on.

I appreciate the information, because im new too the specs and specific quality of ARs i found it helpful for the future.

Sub par? Because of the looks? What is sub par about it? The way it was machined? Or the fact that the 7075 was treated to T7351?

That's what this board is all about.
It's one of the best resources for the AR online.
Read all of the sticky threads and I guarantee you'll be more informed than 90% of the members here.

Forged lowers will be made from 7075-T6.
    No worries there.
The questionable part is who machined it to a finished lower.

I try to read as much as i can, i have a hard time with patience for reading. Im a mechanical engineer student and in the future years hope to get a cnc mill and produce some personal ARs for myself. Through rigorous shooting over the years I hope they are quality enough to sell as a class 7 FFL. I would however produce them as closely to specification that they are at now, I dont know if you could improve on the design its been working pretty well for ~40 years.

I'm just wondering why. You shouldn't make statements unless you have all of the facts.

By the way, to those wondering why he used 7075-T7351. Well, because Armalite uses the same exact aluminum and treating process for its AR-10 lowers. They use T6 in their AR-15 lowers though. Does anyone here know why Armalite chooses to use T73 in its lowers that are made for a much more powerful round????
