I don't even bother going any more. Useless waste of time.

Id settle for Hornady sending out the 75gr amaxs and 110gr vmaxs. Havent seen those in a long time but as long as 178s and 208s are constantly on backorder I don't imagine they will be coming back any time soon.

This thread is still alive? LOL, I had no idea when I started it it would survive for months and months. It turned out to be a topic that a lot of people talked about, I guess.

I still go to them about every other month just for the entertainment. I get a kick out of hearing these dealers telling potential buyers things like Del-Ton is used by the Special Forces etc.

I use a variety of online ammo search engines and purchase all my ammo via the Internet.

My time and my car wear/tear is valuable, plus, I get to skip sales tax, which makes up for the shipping fees.

I see no point in chasing down local deals by visiting Walmart over and over.

Same here but if you get creative you can find powders that will work. I'm sitting on IMR 8208XBR, Varget, CFE223, RL-7, and RL-15. They all work fine for 5.56 and .223 you just have to adjust your powder to bullet weight. I would like to narrow it down to just two powders but with supply still being short, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I'm going to try to get to the show in Pasadena this weekend to see if they have any decent deals and just to get a feel for how ammo is selling at shows these days.

Gander Mountain off of 290 & hwy 6 has tons of ammo... at the usual Gander Mountain prices, WWB 9mm for $40, and most 223/556 at 0.5 and up.

I stop going to guns shows a long time ago. They are a complete waste of time, the only benefit of going is being able to handle a wide selection of guns.

What a difference 9 months makes in some areas. When I first started this thread guns and ammo just weren't available. People were doing crazy things to get either. Earlier I was in a local Bass Pro Shop. There were lots of wholes in the displays, obviously from Christmas and post-Christmas sales. However, they had 18 .223/5.56 AR -style rifles, 2 .308/7.62 AR-10 style and 4 .22 AR-style rifles on display.

    Yeah but . . .

I still cannot walk into a Cabelas, Wal-Mart, etc and find any .22lr on the shelf, it's hit or miss. 9mm is getting a little more plentiful but not much.
