    That is exactly right.

The guy at Walmart looked at me like I was a blooming idiot when I insisted on buying (3) 20-round boxes of 556 instead of (3) 550-round boxes of 22LR or (3) 100-round boxes of 9MM after asking what they received today. I told him I don't shoot 22LR and that I had a pretty good supply of 9MM, but that seemed to only confuse him more in the "How could you possibly have enough of what is the hardest to get?" sort of way.

I've said it before and it remains true, selling ammo at prices below the intersection of the supply and demand curves is only exacerbating the ammo availability problems... i.e. Continuing to justify the hoarders and continuing to supply the gunshow resellers with inexpensive inventory.

I now believe/think/HOPE that in 30-60 days things will start to start to be back to normal. I too have already been seeing things being available again...ammo, mags....the guns themselves have BEEN available for sometime now.
Slowly but surely we are getting there.

And FWIW they had not planned to cease production until they had a new home. PMAGs are showing up at dealers, you just have to be quick.

Internet rumor has it that CTD has been sitting on thousands of PMAGs with the anticipation of a ban going through. They will put some up for sale in small lots at $99 per mag . . .

The only reason and I mean the ONLY reason why I will go to their local retail store is that they are the only place I can get new unissued NATA Jerry cans and M2A1 ammo cans. Sure I can find some online but the shipping is a real bitch on steel containers. I always peruse their ammo selection when I drop in to pick a can or two and get a good ab workout laughing at their prices; 9mm 115gr FMJ any make for $70 per 50rd box, 7.62x39 Russian Tulammo $30 per 20rd box, etc.

LGS had about 20 - 30 3rd Gen / no window PMAGs. They were still way over priced at $29.99, but they were there. I heard of a co-worker that paid $49.95 each for 10 last week.
He was less than happy when I told him that I had ordered 5 Gen 3 / No window black PMAGs for $80.75, including shipping on Sunday night, the same time he ordered those 10 at $49.95 each.

Based on what I saw recently, I would believe that. Many other vendors were doing the same. Literally, some tables had hundreds of Pmags. Amazing, days after the Senate voted down the mag ban, Pmags are falling out of everyone's ass. I hope these cock suckers choke on their surplus inventories. I'm sure the same goes for ammo, BCGs, reloading components & the like.
I'm curious as what the recourse will be for some of these manufacturers. I can see some companies going from overtime to layoffs in no time.
