Which lemonade to make... (barrel question)

As they say, "When life gives you lemons".....

OK, so backstory. In 04, long before I knew anything about ARs, I bought an ASA A2 post ban 16" AR. Despite the company's troubles, this thing ran like a top. After some wheeling and dealing with my brother-in-law, I traded it off.

Fast forward to this month, I got it back from a buddy of ours who did not shoot it so it still has an original round count of 950. Before I got it back, he swapped out the barrel for a Bushmaster Commando barrel with around 500 or so rounds that my brother-in-law gave him.

So I have one 16" heavy barrel, 1/9 twist, 5.56 chamber ( or at least it should be as thats all I ran through it with no problems), non chrome lined

    and a

11.5" w/ 5.5" FH, 1/9 twist (I think), .223 chamber (I think), pre ban barrel, chrome lined that is mounted to the gun.

So should I take the original barrel, have it turned down by ADCO and threaded, and re-install it OR send the Bushy barrel to ADCO and have it reamed? I know I should sell both and buy a quality barrel but times as they are I will just make one of these work for now.

I know it's a matter of cost as the reaming would be cheaper, but the ASA barrel of unknown mfg loves 62 and 69 gr ammo.

And because every post should have a pic or two:

    and post M4carbine.net:

Sell the silly Bushy 11.5/5.5, have a local smith thread your ASA barrel, and be on the lookout for a decent top tier replacement barrel, or better yet a complete upper. Sell the ASA barrel/upper once you have the new one in hand and confirm function/reliability. I would spend as little as possible on the ASA barrel, ie thread it only and have it done locally.

Sell all that nonsense and buy a BCM barrel. They have plenty of stripped barrels in stock. Then you set it up with a low pro block and rail. I am local to you and all you have to do is reach out to me while I am here.

This is a most generous offer.

I take back everything I've said about you.

J/K. I've only had good things to say about you.

This is a damn good offer.

EDIT: watch the "official where can I get it?" thread for a high quality barrel like BCM and then hit up Mr. Gunz.

That's a good idea but I really don't want to darken TOS's doorstep. I did it once and swore I'd never go back.

Iraqgunz, thanks for the offer and I might just do that. I can handle building an upper as I've been doing that since I've learned from people like you here. I put the gun in the bottom picture together myself from stripped parts.

Out of everything I've been thinking, it didn't dawn on me to just sell the barrels and buy just one... I only wish I could find a flattop upper in stock cause then I'd just swap that out too.
