Purchased them to shoot them and I have ammo, it is just that with the current ammo shortage I hate to use what I have knowing I can not replace it as fast as I can shoot it.

I get the question all the time, "Why do you have an AR15/AK47"

    answer:
for the sport of shooting, protect and collect

Shooting and HD/SD. The shortage of ammo is tough and I think most have become more frugal across all platforms.

Purchased mine for multiple different purposes. I was fortunate to put plenty of ammo away so I can still shoot, just not as often. Now I am trying ot get into reloading but, it's just as hard as finding regular ammo. I figure better late than never though.

Why not all of the above?

The Marines have done much, with so little, for so long--we can now do anything, with nothing, forever.

Constitutional rights are enshrined with the scope they were understood to have when the people adopted them, whether or not future legislatures or (yes) even future judges think that scope too broad

Defense. So yeah, damn right I want the meanest, baddest rifle available. Everything else is a bonus. (See 2A!)

I've got nothing against ARs or gun games, but isn't a pistol the most likely tool to be used in self defense? I don't know the statistics. Are we more likely to need a defensive firearm in/near the house (shotgun/rifle) or when we are out and about on foot or in the car (handgun)?
Won't argue that. A defensive situation that would necessitate a person with an accessible rifle to intervene would be extreme. So arguably, if one is forced into such an extreme situation, one better have extreme measures available to them.

Even though it is the year 2013, we as a species are no more civilized than we were in year 1 AD.

Shooting and self defense. Just moved to a state where I can hunt with them, so I'm still waiting to try that.
