I really like the Tango Down "stubby" grip. It has storage for a 123 battery, or other similarly sized stuff. It also locks tight on the rail. I also like the AFG, but mine is on a 12" rail.

As far as slings, I think you can't go wrong with a good adjustable two-point sling. I have a Gear Sector two-point that works well for me. I would like to try one with wider / padded webbing, like the Vickers.

I really like it. I think you started with an extremely solid platform and improved dramatically on it. Thanks for sharing your Rifle!

Looks great to me. The only thing I could tease you about is.... clean off the counter before the next picture!

The downfall to the Colt 6940 has got to be the short rail. Not real familiar with them but it is a 7" rail that can't be removed, correct? I know that my current AR has a carbine length rail and it definitely could be longer to aid in shooting.

It would be nice if Colt or someone else could come out with a rail extension kind of like what is available for the Scar rifles.

Also the T1 is really nice if you ever decide to swap out your current Aimpoint.

lol. I am the same way. My work area looks disheveled to say the least. Makes finding a dropped pin or flying spring difficult to locate at times…

Correct. Probably one of a few reasons it was not on the list of base guns recommended at the time I got it by M4C members, but it was a trade with a dealer who wanted one of my 1911s at the time, and it was a big improvement over the BM I had at the time. The idea being, the mono construction being more rigid and such, but yes, they could have done the design with a longer rail no doubt.

The short rail has also made the AFG not what it could be, and I thinking a VFG would allow improved extension of my support arm.

Doesn't someone make a rail extension? Hadn't thought of that as an option.

I love Gear Sectors studdy grips. Very compact and feels great to me. I have 3 of them on various AR's

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... what a minute, nice shooter. I think it would be a candidate for a padded sling.

About the magwell grip, tell every one it is for insulation, you reload so fast it gets hot.
