Before sticking a VFG on it I would recommend doing some shooting without it and figuring out what exactly you want to improve by adding another item.
I use a VFG, but I use them for specific purposes. My needs might not be yours.

That is exactly what I use my Gear SEctor VFG's for. Handstops.

They look excellent for that use but a tad pricy for a simple hand stop no? Larue (for example) is about $25:

That's true about the price. I've also looked at going to a true hand stop. Just haven't pulled the trigger on one yet, all puns intended of course.

I tried quite a few vfgs and always come back to the kac with the thumb over grip using it as a handstop of sorts. Just something about the angle of it that fits.
For some reason I always preferred the stub on the pistol grip but still prefer the size of the Miad.
A sopmod, ACS, str or imod will help the balance of it and improve on the standard stock in relation to your shoulder/chest. Trying them out first would be best.
Slings would be another thing to try first. I think I have a keeper with the emdom from skd. Adjusts like a BFG without the extra sling hanging down like he VTAC, but convertible like a magpul to one point with a built in d ring, if you're not going with qd mounts and want the ability to run it as a one point. I'd like to try a bfg cobra too but they're pricey.
I really like kac 600m rear sights but not crazy about the front. I prefer a standard fixed or dd for a railed. I wouldn't worry about the frot sight for the time being until you use it a bit. I've never tried Hk style sights though and could see them being much faster up close.

Not laughing at all Will.. I'm a fan of the Magpul VFG, use them as a handstop. I've gone through a few moe grips, miad etc. settled on the moe+.

Larue's FUG comes with three different sized bottom caps. You can decide if you want to use a stubby like the Tango Down, medium length or long enabling larger storage in the grip depending on the mission. Trying all three sizes to see which appeals to your style of shooting.
PS, make sure to add you only use a VFG as sort of a handstop and not actually gripping the thing so you can really sound like you are an "operator". Always makes me lol when people feel they have to add that...![]()

Put your left palm flat on your right shoulder.
Now entend your right arm and lay your palm flat(suppine) at the forwardmost extension like you are reaching for something.
Birng it back slowly toward your shoulder again.
This is the angle an AFG should be vs your rail length given where your hand is in relation to your shoulder.
The AFG angle is simply too shallow to be use correctly on a carbine length rail. On a middy rail, it works fine.
I just go with a VFG and a high-hand hold on a carbine length rail.
