There is a huge chunk of what looks like plastic inside the sight. This can't be the LED emitter can it? It's right in plain view. Nothing like my real T1 obviously. Is this how they come or did I get the shaft? I waited 6 months for them to come in stock, and now I get a bunk one. Good times.

It's fine. It is also not a scope, if you're using it right you aren't even staring through the optic. Google "how a red dot sight works". There is also useful info on the Aimpoint page.

That's the emitter. Let me know if you don't wanna keep it.

Yessir I know how a rds works. I was just concerned because that emitter is about 3x the size as the one in my real aimpoint micro. Now that I know this is standard on the PA micros I am no longer concerned.

I have a Tasco Red Dot on my 22/45 with a very visible emitter in about the same spot. It's a cheap optic for a range-toy, so it's not a big deal.

The Bushnell micro red dot has the emitter in the same position. I found it too distracting to use and returned it to who I bought it from (not primary arms).

I was in their store the other day and there was another small RDS that had an emitter that was not in the 4:30 position. I think it was in the 3 o'clock position. It was also less obtrusive.

That's where mine is but its not distracting to me while shooting so it doesn't bother me. Its also on a 15-22 so I don't need a $600 rds. You get what you pay for, as long as youre looking for a range toy I don't think you can beat it for the price. I wish I would've bought two but I think Ill try the vortex sparc for my 5.56 AR. Especially for the money I think theyre great quality and mine has held zero just fine on my 15-22. I don't need to get some glasses though as Im used to shooting through scopes for accuracy so my poor vision hasn't bothered me but with the rds it does at 25yds.
